The Potential Site

Paradise Circus lies between Centenary and Chamberlain Squares and includes properties such as the Copthorne Hotel, Conservatoire, the existing Central Library and Paradise Forum. The site covers a total area of approximately 17 acres (6.9 hectares).

The Proposals

Following initial site clearance, this exciting redevelopment will comprise circa 1.8 million sq ft of offices, shops, leisure cultural and civic amenities together with a new hotel in up to 10 new buildings.

The entire development will be set in a series of new streets and squares to create a first class working environment and a more suitable setting for Birmingham’s historic buildings including the Town Hall and Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery.

Significant improvements to the road layout in and around the site are also proposed.

When complete, the development will greatly improve connections to other parts of the city such as the Jewellery Quarter, Summer Row, Brindleyplace and Colmore Business District.
