Settings for Historic Buildings

Comprehensive redevelopment of the area could create a more appropriate setting for the listed historic buildings in the area:

  • Enhance the setting of the Grade I listed Town Hall which would no longer adjoin a busy road
  • Open up longer views of the Grade II listed Council House
  • Reveal views of the front of the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery and the Clock Tower which are currently obscured
  • Provide high quality public realm which will be maintained to high standards
